Settlementinformationmodeling Quality of life in focus: Development of a Settlement Information Model to support the integrative densification of urban spaces   

Alongside the climate crisis, increasing resource scarcity and the great need for affordable housing, densification of urban spaces is one of the important issues in current urban and spatial planning. Since densification involves concrete interventions in our everyday lives, it is important to understand the circumstances under which residents accept it. Urban planners face the dual challenge of implementing the triple inner urban development planning model while focusing on residents' quality of life. 

This dissertation examines the development of a settlement information model (SIM) as an integrative method for the densification of urban spaces against the backdrop of triple inner urban development, based on the Building Information Modeling (BIM) method. The aim is to develop a digital integrative method for the inner development planning model and to analyze how quality of life indicators can be included into the planning process.
