In addition to teaching, an experimental infrastructure for research projects is currently being set up in cooperation with the IMtech - Institute for Microtechnologies(Prof. Dr. Markus Bender - Vacuum Technology, Prof. Dr. Stefan Kontermann - Technical Optics and Photonics). One specialization is quantum sensor technology.
In the research area, a setup for pulsed ODMR (Optically Detected Magnetic Resonance) with NV centers in diamond is currently being developed. The goal is to investigate methods of quantum sensor technology and make them usable for student research projects and theses in the future.
At the same time, a further specialization in the field of quantum simulation is being developed in collaboration with Professor Edeltraud Gehrig .
