IMtech – Institute for Microtechnologies at RheinMain University of Applied Sciences

Research and teaching are closely intertwined, and at the Institute for Microtechnologies we see this as our mission: research projects of many different kinds are carried out here, some in collaboration with companies and other universities and supported by public funding, some bilaterally on behalf of companies, and others out of our own initiative, driven by the scientific curiosity typical of researchers.

But this always happens with the involvement of our students. The best way to learn research is by doing research: with our projects we create the basis for introducing motivated young people to exciting scientific work and give them the opportunity to work at the forefront of science in our laboratories or in cooperating institutes and companies, thereby qualifying for a career in research and development. Beforehand, we equip these young people with the necessary theoretical and practical tools in lectures, exercises and laboratory courses and convey to them a little of the fascination that microtechnologies hold for us.
