The microstructuring laboratory of the Physics department (the "clean room laboratory") is used for courses (especially in the Applied Physics and Interdisciplinary Engineering Sciences degree programs) and is available to students in higher semesters for final theses and doctoral candidates. It is also used for research and development projects, some of which are carried out together with or for industrial partners.

The cleanroom laboratory is a central facility of the Institute of Microtechnologies, an institution of the Faculty of Engineering. This institute combines teaching and R&D activities in the field of microtechnologies, as well as photonics and Medical Engineering.
