Digital Cinema
Film distribution is the last domain of analog technology. Compared to all other A/V media, digital cinema places the highest demands on color fidelity, color gamut, contrast, spatial resolution and audio quality.
In the Digital Cinema laboratory, students are given an understanding of the special requirements of the digital film medium, especially in comparison to broadcast systems.
A workflow developed by students at the university and project staff as part of Hochschule RheinMain's participation in the EU project "EDCine" (Enhanced Digital Cinema) is used to create digital cinema short films as part of the practical courses and tutorials.
The workflow is currently being further developed in the BMBF project "3D Cinema" for stereoscopic image processing.
