Fachgebiete am Fachbereich Ingenieurwissenschaften im Überblick

In the digital image processing laboratory, students learn to encode and process digital image and video signals. Current video coding standards such as H.264/AVC, H.265/HEVC and H.266/VVC are used. In bachelor's degree, master's degree and project work, students research new digital signal processing methods, for example to further increase the coding efficiency of current video coding methods or to recover the three-dimensional world from recorded two-dimensional video signals. This work often takes place within the framework of highly topical funded research projects.
