Here you can receive funding for your publication in a pure Open Access journal up to an upper limit of 2500€ gross.
Our conditions
Articles in academic journals,
- whose corresponding author is a member or affiliate of the HSRM at the time of publication
- that appear in a purely open access journal (Gold), i.e. all articles in the journal are freely accessible immediately after publication
- which are published under the Creative Commons Attribution License(CC BY 4.0)
- whose quality is guaranteed by the quality assurance procedures recognized in the respective subject (peer review)
- which are listed in the DOAJ if possible
- Articles in journals in which not all articles are published immediately in open access (so-called hybrid journals)
- Ancillary costs such as color charges, page charges, etc.
- Non-scientific articles
- Articles that appear in so-called mirror journals
- Articles with restrictive CC licenses
- Articles without peer review
- Conference papers
- your own publication funds (e.g. from third-party funded projects) must be used first.
- If co-financing is necessary, please contact us before submitting your applicant. In this case, an order number must be included with the applicant's application.
- the maximum funding limit per article is 2500 euros gross. (Please note: article fees are generally taxed retrospectively at 19% VAT).
- Please indicate the funding by stating"Die Open Access-Publikation wurde gefördert durch den Publikationsfonds der Hochschule RheinMain" / "Open Access funding provided by the Open Access Publication Fund of the RheinMain University of Applied Sciences".
- Be sure to include the ROR so that the funding can be automatically evaluated by the HSRM.
- The funding approval is valid for 12 months.
- Please use your own ORCID ID as corresponding author.
- Please state the HSRM affiliation clearly. In the case of multiple institutional affiliations, please name them first. The current version of the HRK recommendations serve as a basis:

- the publication will be published second in PUR.
Our request: Please contact us before submitting the publication so that we are informed and can plan the expenses in advance.
As soon as the publication has been accepted for publication, the application can be submitted. If the invoice is already available, please submit it as well.
Make sure that the invoice recipient is Hochschule RheinMain (faculty/institution) and that the invoice shows the net amount. Foreign invoices must not include VAT. In this case, please state the VAT of HSRM: DE 811 490 955

Basic requirements:
- The HSRM is responsible for editing the monograph, i.e. you act as (co-)editor and are a member or affiliate of the HSRM at the time of publication.
- The funding refers to the entire work, not to an individual contribution.
- It is a first publication with previously unpublished contributions.
- All parts of the sponsored work must be permanently accessible free of charge and worldwide immediately upon publication.
- The entire work and all parts thereof will be provided with a free license (preferably CC BY 4.0).
- The quality of the planned publication is guaranteed by the quality assurance procedures recognized in the respective subject.
- Only open access fees are financed up to an individually defined upper limit.
