Zotero, a free bibliography management program, runs on Mac, Microsoft, and Linux, offering an alternative to Citavi. It can be used, for example, to write term papers and theses.
When using the program, personal data is collected and processed. Please refer to the program’s terms of use for more information.

PLEASE NOTE: HLB will only continue to license Citavi through May 2027. After that date, access to Citavi will require a fee. As an alternative, we recommend using Zotero.
For independent study, a video on literature management with Citavi and a self-study course for the “Citavi Windows 6.x” version are available via the ILIAS learning platform.

Citavi Support
We offer office hours (both online and in person at the library) for the CITAVI reference management software. To schedule an online appointment, please contact us by email. We will then send you the login information.
Online office hours can be booked as needed.
In-person office hours are always held on Thursdays (11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.) at the Kurt-Schumacher-Ring Library, Room A 354.
