Personal data

• Library card number, user type
• Start and expiration date of admission for use
• Surname and given name
• Date of birth
• Home address
• Student identification number (for students of Hochschule RheinMain)
• Password for online orders, renewals and querying the loan account

Borrowing and fee data

• Date of borrowing, end of check-out period and date of last borrowing process
• Number of renewals, reservations
• Interlibrary loan account
• Overdue notices
• Amount and details of fees and costs owed
• Exclusion from borrowing in the case of fees still to be paid and media not returned

Voluntary information

• Collection location of the media, degree program at the HSRM, e-mail address

The data will be processed with your consent on the basis of the user regulations of the RheinMain University and State Library dated March 18, 2013.

Personal data

The user relationship ends if no media have been borrowed within three years. In this case, your personal data will be deleted automatically. However, you can also deregister in person at the circulation desk of a library location. In this case, your personal data will be deleted on the day after you check out. If items are still on loan or there are outstanding debts (e.g. overdue fines), they will only be deleted after the limitation period has expired.

Loan data

The loan data will be deleted when the media are returned. In the case of particularly valuable holdings and works published before 1800, the integrity of the holdings is checked. The loan data will not be deleted until the next working day.

Fee/cost data

The data will be deleted once the fees or costs have been paid.

Personal data, borrowing and fee data are used exclusively for library purposes. In the event of enforcement measures due to unpaid fees, the data will be forwarded to the budget department of Hochschule RheinMain.

You can refuse to provide information on the above personal data. In this case, you cannot be issued with a library card.

You have the right to receive information free of charge about the personal data stored about you, its origin and recipients and the purpose of the data processing, as well as a right to rectification, blocking or erasure or restriction of processing of this data (Art. 15-19 GDPR).

If you believe that the processing of your personal data violates the provisions of the GDPR, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority in accordance with Art. 77 GDPR.
