If you publish as a corresponding author

• in one of the approximately 2000 hybrid journals, a so-called Publish & Read Fee (PAR Fee) of 2600 euros is due. Price adjustments of 1% each are possible from 2026. You can find out about financing options here.
• If you publish in one of the approximately 500 pure Open Access journals, you will receive a 20% discount on the APC list price. If necessary, the costs can be financed proportionally via the HSRM publication fund.

To the title list.

If you publish as a Corresponding Author

• in a core hybrid journal, a Publish and Read Fee (PAR Fee) of 2500 euros (net) is due. From 2025 it will increase by 3% annually. For publications in hybrid Cell Press or The Lancet journals, a net fee of 6450 euros is due. From 2025 it will increase by 4%.
• If you publish in a Fully Gold Open Access journal, you will receive a 20% discount on the APC list price. A 15% discount is granted on publications in Fully Gold Cell Press or The Lancet journals. The costs can be financed proportionally via the HSRM publication fund.

If you publish as a Corresponding Author:

• in one of the more than 1300 hybrid journals, a so-called Publish & Read Fee (PAR Fee) of 2200 - 3150 euros (net) is due.
• If you publish in one of the more than 600 pure Open Access journals, you will receive a 20% discount on the APC list price. If necessary, the costs can be financed proportionally via the HSRM publication fund.

If you publish as a corresponding author

• in an IOP journal, you can publish your article in open access in almost all journals.
• Open Access publishing does not incur any costs for you. The APCs (Article Processing Charges) are covered by the higher education institution.
• However, IOP will charge you directly for additional services (e.g. for color illustrations or excess length).

If you publish as a corresponding author

• in an ACM OPEN journal, you can publish your article in open access in almost all journals.
• Open Access publishing does not incur any costs for you. The APCs (Article Processing Charges) are covered by the higher education institution.
• However, ACM will invoice you directly for additional services (e.g. for color illustrations or excess length).

Due to the MDPI membership, all authors of the HSRM receive a 10% discount on the article fees.
