Future Conference

Focus on Current Developments and Future Issues

The Future Conference provides a platform for dialogue among academia, business, politics, and society, bringing together diverse perspectives on key issues. The focus is on innovation, change, and the question of how we can actively shape the future. The conference is organized as a student project and takes place under the guidance of a professor from the Faculty of Engineering. In this way, it combines hands-on work with academic supervision and provides students with valuable insights into the planning, organization, and execution of a major academic event.

The Future Conference is not a new format: the last conference in this series took place as early as 2016. The event thus builds on an existing tradition and continues a proven concept.

The goal of the Future Conference

The goal of this format is to shed light on current issues related to the future, promote interdisciplinary dialogue, and provide inspiration for academia, practical experience, and society. To this end, the Future Conference creates an open space where knowledge is shared, perspectives are broadened, and new ideas are sparked.

A Look Back at the 2026 Conference

The most recent conference in 2026 focused on the impact of artificial intelligence on work and leadership. Under the title “AI and People 2026—Work and Leadership in the AI Revolution,” and led by Dr. Maria Wiesmann, the event featured presentations, a panel discussion, and practical contributions exploring the opportunities, risks, and changes in the world of work. The exchange among participants and networking opportunities were just as important as the expert insights.
