Use of particularly valuable holdings

In the reading room you can use the holdings that we do not lend out for conservation reasons. This applies to all works older than 100 years.

Rare books, prints published before 1800 and particularly valuable works are subject to special conditions of use due to their value and/or rarity. Such orders will only be issued to you once you have taken note of these special conditions.

We ask for your understanding that the use of works published before 1700 and particularly valuable works is only possible Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 16:00, exceptions can be approved after consultation/in advance. Please contact service-hlb[at]hs-rm.de for this purpose.

Rara

Before use, a "Verpflichtungsschein für die Benutzung von Rara" must be completed, on the basis of which use is authorized.

Obligation form for the use of rare books

We can then make the works available for you. However, for conservation reasons, this must be registered with the information desk or by phone +49 611 9495-1822) by 2 p.m. on the previous working day at the latest. The restricted opening hours also apply to Rara (Monday - Friday 10:00 - 16:00).
