On August 31, 2026, Maria Wiesmann visited the Neues Gymnasium Rüsselsheim as part of the career orientation days. In a presentation lasting about 45 minutes, she informed the students about studies in Engineering at Hochschule RheinMain – University of Applied Sciences and Arts, the Faculty of Engineering, and provided insights into the diverse opportunities in the field of Engineering.
The room was completely filled with more than 20 interested students. The students participated attentively and enthusiastically in the presentation and asked numerous questions. Some of them were already familiar with Hochschule RheinMain – University of Applied Sciences and Arts and the Rüsselsheim Campus—some even from their time at the Children’s and Youth University.
A specialization was placed on the new Applied Engineering program, which will begin in the 2026/2027 winter semester. This interdisciplinary program allows students to explore various technical subject areas, work on joint practical projects, and flexibly tailor their own academic path. In the first semesters, students can also change their specialization without losing time or credits.
The new concept generated a great deal of interest among the students and was very well received. It remains to be seen how many of the participants will decide to enroll in studies at Hochschule RheinMain – University of Applied Sciences and Arts next year.
