On Thursday, July 2, 2026, the general meeting of the alumni association for the Environmental Technology degree program, alumtec, unanimously approved the merger with the Association of Alumni and Supporters of Engineering at the Rüsselsheim Campus e.V. (AuFING), the second alumni association of the Faculty of Engineering. As a result, the faculty’s alumni activities will now be consolidated under AuFING.
The merger of the alumni associations is the next logical step following the faculty’s revision of its programs and the introduction of the “Applied Engineering” degree program, a strongly interdisciplinary curriculum. This increased interdisciplinary collaboration is now also reflected in the merger of the faculty’s alumni associations.
After the meeting concluded, alumtec members met with AuFING members in the faculty’s beer garden for a casual exchange of ideas.
