Mobility laboratory

Tasks and equipment

The field of mobility and transportation is developing dynamically due to social, political and technical changes. New transportation offers and mobility services illustrate this change. Questions such as: Who uses these services? Are they supplements or alternatives to traditional means of transportation? What measures promote sustainable mobility? are the focus here.
Direct contact with users is essential to find answers - e.g. through surveys and observations. Hochschule RheinMain has set up a mobility laboratory for this purpose.

Equipment of the mobility lab:

  • Workstations for computer-assisted interviews.
  • Technologies for route tracking and analysis of air and noise emissions.
  • Tools for traffic monitoring and conflict analysis.
  • Materials for simulating physical restrictions.

The laboratory supports practical teaching in the Mobility Management degree program, offers space for small groups and provides in-depth research projects by students, members of staff and lecturers.
