Sustainable Mobility
What is it?
The degree program in Sustainable Mobility is a cooperation between Hochschule RheinMain, the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences, Hochschule Darmstadt, and the Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen, and focuses on sustainable and environmentally friendly concepts for the shift in mobility. The concept is characterized by its interdisciplinary approach, based on which you will obtain not only engineering skills in the fields of planning, design, and operation of integrated transportation systems; you will also obtain skills in the social sciences and in economics.
The main campuses for this degree program are Wiesbaden and Frankfurt (HOLM) and Frankfurt (FRA UAS).
What can I do with it?
As a graduate, you will be qualified for tasks in planning and management in local municipalities, engineering firms, with individual transportation providers, and with relevant associations and departments within companies with this focus, and in a team you will be able to assume responsibility for all areas of transportation and infrastructure planning, as well as mobility management.
For degree-seeking students: detailed information on admission requirements, application deadlines, etc. can be found on the German language variant of this page.

Research and teaching
The way we think about tomorrow's transportation today is changing and the bicycle as a means of transport will become increasingly important in the future. In order to support this positive change in the importance of cycling, the BMVI awarded endowed professorships with a specialization in cycling to a total of seven higher education institutions at the beginning of 2020 - including RheinMain University of Applied Sciences.
The professorship focuses on the planning and design of traffic facilities and road safety.
More about the endowed professorship
The inter-university Doctoral Center Mobility and Logistics is a joint scientific institution of Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences, Fulda University of Applied Sciences and Hochschule RheinMain.
It is supported by members who teach and research in the fields of transport, mobility and logistics and can draw on a wide range of existing collaborations between the participating universities and cooperation with external partners.
With the interdisciplinary research center Rhein-Main Institute for Transformative Sciences in Mobility and Logistics (RITMO), RheinMain University of Applied Sciences promotes research and transfer services for the development of corresponding approaches. Researchers from all faculties of the higher education institution work holistically and interdisciplinary in the research center.
