Hydraulic engineering laboratory
Tasks and equipment
The hydraulic engineering laboratory with an outdoor test area of 1250 m² and an indoor laboratory area of approx. 150 m² is assigned to the fields of hydraulic engineering, water management and hydrology within the specialization "Water and Transport" of the civil engineering course. The hydraulic engineering laboratory supplements and supports the lecture content with its experimental program.
In addition, the hydraulic engineering laboratory enables the implementation of research and development projects (R&D projects) and the preparation of reviewers for practical experience. With the watercourse teaching course on the Wellritzbach (5 minutes walkway from the KSR campus), the lecture content is supplemented with short excursions.
The "Heavy rainfall and flash floods" working group has been based in the hydraulic engineering laboratory since 2015.
