What is it about?

In the Mobility Management degree program, the focus is on the future of moving around. With us, you’ll learn both how to plan sustainable transportation systems and how to overcome the associated economic and communication-related challenges. As part of your studies, you can choose various specializations such as transportation planning and mobility research. You’ll learn to consider mobility from a range of different perspectives and to develop new concepts for towns and cities, local authorities, and businesses.

Our degree program is progressive and practical, imparting knowledge using real case studies. You’ll be equipped with the right tools to shape the future of mobility!

What can I do with it?

With a qualification in Mobility Management, many options will be available to you. In the Rhine-Main area, you’ll find excellent infrastructure and a wide range of employers, with transportation companies, logistics providers, technology suppliers, and local authorities all seeking to develop sustainable transport concepts. Or perhaps you’ll launch your own mobility start-up?

No matter whether you’d like to plan new mobility services, optimize public transport, implement smart transportation systems, or develop mobility strategies for cities, towns, and local authorities – your skills will be highly sought after. Mobility managers enjoy outstanding employment prospects and have the opportunity to work on solutions that really matter.

For degree-seeking students: detailed information on admission requirements, application deadlines, etc. can be found on the German page.

Course of study

The study plan offers you an overview of the content and specializations taught in each semester.
We use interactive teaching methods in small groups, supported by practitioners from the transport industry. This gives you the skills you need for your career. Further details can be found in the module handbook (PO2023, as of October 2025).

Our study projects are implemented with various cooperation partners from mobility and transport, which underlines our practice-oriented approach. Our graphic gives you an overview of the progress of the projects - from data collection and the development of mobility concepts to the design of mobility management processes and services.

Insights into studies

  • Leonard Deike, urbanymotors

My studies helped me to look at mobility from different perspectives and to understand the challenges and opportunities that exist. This was the basics for founding my own start-up with urbanymotors.

  • Bike tour through Paris
    Field trips

Field trips are an integral part of our studies - we travel throughout Germany and internationally. This allows you to get to know examples of successful mobility management in practical experience.

  • Niklas Trimborn, Alumnus

The highlights of my studies were the practical relevance, the direct line to the professors and the exchange in the lecture hall with many like-minded people. This 'bubble' is simply great fun! Many doors are open to you after graduation - it was the right decision.
