Beamforming for mmWave Sensing, Imaging and 6G Communication

The research investigates the use of Rotman lens technology in the millimeter-wave (mmWave) band to enable advanced sensing, localization, imaging, and communication systems. The work includes the study and design of mmWave Rotman lenses using both full‑wave simulation and precise measurement techniques. It advances new methods for chipless RFID tag detection and investigates high‑accuracy indoor localization through algorithms such as POA, TOA, and AOA. In addition, the research analyzes the potential of Rotman lenses for future 5G/6G systems, with emphasis on beam switching, spatial diversity, and seamless integration into advanced wireless links. To experimentally validate the proposed concepts, an mmWave Rotman‑lens‑based testbed will be developed for comprehensive demonstration and performance evaluation.
