Sustainable Construction and international cooperation between GROW Colourful Ghana and the HSRM in 2023

17.01.2024 - GROW Colourful Ghana e.V. presents a summary of its work in 2023 in a video about its cooperation with Hochschule RheinMain. The video shows exciting insights into the cooperation in Ghana, Wiesbaden and Dortmund on YouTube.

Hochschule RheinMain will continue to focus on sustainable construction in 2024: The Architecture degree program is planning another summer school on renewable building materials in Wiesbaden in collaboration with the Laboratory of Timber Engineering. At the same time, a workshop on climate resilient housing in Mozambique will be organized together with Weltweit e.V., which already took place successfully in 2022. Students from the Faculty of Architecture and Civil Engineering developed a mock-up for guest houses for a bamboo training center in Ghana as part of the elective "Climate-Resilient Construction | DESIGN BUILD". Impressions of the 2022 summer school can also be found on YouTube.

In spring 2023, students continued their practical experience at a hands-on workshop in Ghana, accompanied by Prof. Sascha Luippold and adjunct instructors Christoph Diekhans and Jan Glasmeier. Another highlight was Hochschule RheinMain's appearance at the European Bamboo Expo in Dortmund in June 2023.
