Allocation of remaining places by lottery procedure

If there are still remaining places available on a degree program after the allocation procedure has been completed, these are allocated by lottery. Whether a lottery procedure will take place in a degree program is sometimes decided at very short notice.

The places available at Hochschule RheinMain are published here and in the nationwide study place exchange in the Hochschulkompass.

The list of degree programs for which remaining places are allocated by lottery procedure may be extended daily during the application period.

For which degree programs is there a lottery procedure for the winter semester 2026/2027?

Deadline: September 13, 2026

MA Sustainable and Digital Aviation (part-time)

For German-taught programs see German page.

This list is continuously updated during the application period.

What are the application deadlines?

The application deadlines are set individually and published here (see above) as soon as places at university for a degree program are allocated by lottery procedure. If not all places can be filled after this deadline, a further lottery procedure may be started.

Remaining study places are usually offered for a winter semester from the beginning of August to the middle of October and for a summer semester from the beginning of February to the middle of April.

Who can apply for the lottery procedure?

In principle, anyone who does not receive a place at university via the regular allocation procedure or who has missed the regular application deadlines (15 July / 15 January) can apply for it. The requirement for a successful application is that you meet the admission requirements for the degree program in question.

How do I apply for the lottery procedure?

The application for participation in the lottery procedure is submitted online via the application portal of Hochschule RheinMain.

https://bewerbung.hs-rm.de

If you already have an application account,

  • Go to the account.
  • Start a new application.
  • Select the degree type "Lottery procedure"
  • In the degree program selection, select the degree program "Lottery procedure name of the desired degree program".
  • Fills in the required fields and uploads the required supporting documents
  • Submits the application by the application deadline.

You can apply for any number of degree programs in the lottery procedure.

If you do not yet have an application account, you must first register in the application portal and then follow the steps described above. This also applies if you have already studied at Hochschule RheinMain but are no longer enrolled in the university.

If you are currently enrolled in RheinMain University of Applied Sciences, log in to COMPASS as usual. Then switch to the "Apply for" tab on the left-hand side. On the page that opens, click on the "Apply for another degree program" button, correct your address and email if necessary and then follow the steps described above.

What do I have to pay attention to after the application?

From the day after the application deadline, you must be available for the Admissions Office so that the enrollment can be implemented quickly if the lot is drawn. If these days fall on a weekend, you should be available from the next working day.

If we are able to offer an admission, you will be contacted by email. You must then accept the offer of admission within 24 hours, otherwise the place at university will be allocated elsewhere. Once you have accepted, you will receive an admission letter in your application account. This admission letter will specify an enrollment date by which the semester fees must be credited to the higher education institution's account and the enrollment application must be submitted online.

Applicants who are not selected will not receive a rejection notification. The same applies to incomplete applications.

Which application documents must be uploaded with the application?

If you are applying for admission with German academic transcripts:

  • Higher education entrance qualification / if applying for a master's degree program, Bachelor's certificate/preliminary academic transcript and proof of all completed courses,
  • If applicable, further proof of admission requirements for a degree program (e.g. proof of internship). You can see the admission requirements for the respective degree program by clicking on the respective degree program above.

If you are applying for a degree program with foreign academic transcripts, you should also upload

  • For degree programs in German: Proof of sufficient German Language  (Proficiency Test for Entrance to German Universities at least DSH 2),
  • Copies of your home country certificates / if applicable, the assessment test certificate or the evaluation of the home country certificate; when applying for a master's program, bachelor's degree certificate; if this is not yet available, a certificate confirming completion of your bachelor's degree
  • Grading Scale (Credit Transfer System)
  • Translation of the academic transcripts / other proofs in German or English
