Obtain a doctorate
There are currently around 80 doctoral candidates at Hochschule RheinMain and just as many doctoral candidates who are pursuing their doctorate in a cooperative procedure or in a doctoral center . Doctorates are an essential component of teaching and research activities.
The university-wide graduate network supports and advises doctoral candidates, including financially, and offers interdisciplinary continuing education.
Independent right to award doctorates
Hochschule RheinMain currently has the independent right to award doctorates in the three research-intensive subject areas of "Social Work", "Applied Computer Science" and "Mobility and Logistics". The doctorate is completed by the respective doctoral center and the doctorate is awarded by Hochschule RheinMain.

Cooperative doctorates
In a cooperative doctoral procedure, your doctorate will be supervised by a professor at HSRM and a professor at a university or higher education institution with an independent right to award doctorates. Your workplace is mainly at HSRM, but the doctorate is awarded by the cooperating institution.
A cooperative doctorate is possible in all faculties of the HSRM and is particularly suitable in those areas in which the HSRM does not have an independent right to award doctorates.

Cooperation with universities
The SENSYBLE doctoral program researches adaptive, self-interweaving IT systems for the living environments of the future. The research training group is jointly supported by the DCSM faculty at Hochschule RheinMain and the Institute of Computer Science at Goethe University Frankfurt am Main.
The Center for Advanced E-Business Studies (CAEBUS) at RheinMain University of Applied Sciences was founded in 2014 and since then has been continuously exploring the various facets of digitalization and e-business. The Center's mission is to develop innovative and sustainable e-business models and solutions in accordance with economic and regulatory frameworks. The Center researches solutions based on detailed studies of user needs, cultural requirements and conditions for economic efficiency.
