The university-wide graduate network supports and advises doctoral candidates, including financially, and offers interdisciplinary continuing education.

Independent right to award doctorates

Hochschule RheinMain currently has the independent right to award doctorates in the three research-intensive subject areas of "Social Work", "Applied Computer Science" and "Mobility and Logistics". The doctorate is completed by the respective doctoral center and the doctorate is awarded by Hochschule RheinMain.

Cooperative doctorates

In a cooperative doctoral procedure, your doctorate will be supervised by a professor at HSRM and a professor at a university or higher education institution with an independent right to award doctorates. Your workplace is mainly at HSRM, but the doctorate is awarded by the cooperating institution.

A cooperative doctorate is possible in all faculties of the HSRM and is particularly suitable in those areas in which the HSRM does not have an independent right to award doctorates.

In some subject areas there are long-standing cooperations with universities:

Graduate network

As soon as a professor at the HSRM has agreed to supervise your doctorate, you can register in the Graduate Network - regardless of whether you are obtaining a doctorate in one of the doctoral centers or in a cooperative procedure.

The network offers you, for example, financial support for expenses related to your doctorate, continuing education and qualification opportunities, access to the HSRM infrastructure and the opportunity to network across universities.
