Legal basis

Compulsory delivery to HLB RheinMain

Publishers in our region and other defined districts, as well as authors and editors who self-publish their writings within or outside the book trade (e.g. associations, public and private institutions), are obliged to submit one copy of each of their publications to the library free of charge within one month and at their own expense. This includes books, maps, grades, calendars with explanatory texts, magazines and newspapers in printed and/or electronic form, as well as media works in image and sound (e.g. CDs, DVDs). New editions or reprints must also be handed in.

What does the library receive?

The University and State Library holds the deposit copy right for the city of Wiesbaden, the Hochtaunuskreis, the Lahn-Dill-Kreis, the Kreis Limburg-Weilburg, the Main-Kinzig-Kreis, the Main-Taunus-Kreis and the Rheingau-Taunus-Kreis.

What does the library receive?

The basis for this obligation is the Hessian Library Act (HessBiblG) of 12.12.2021 (GVB1 of the State of Hesse of 20.12.2021) and the Ordinance on the Compulsory Delivery of Media Works (PflAV) of 19.11.2024 (GVBl of the State of Hesse of 10.12.2024).
