Loss/defect/theft of the StudentCard

Starting with the winter semester 2026/27, students at HSRM who were already enrolled before the winter semester 2026 will no longer receive a new chip card if their StudentCard is lost or damaged. Instead, they will benefit directly from the digital student ID card in the hsrm app. We therefore recommend installing the hsrm app after activating your HDS account.

The hsrm app is expected to be available in the app stores from October 1, 2026.

Applications for a replacement StudentCard can be submitted for the last time on September 30, 2026. Since your new StudentCard will not be ready before the hsrm app is introduced on October 1, 2026, we recommend downloading the app and refraining from applying for a replacement of your StudentCard so that you do not have to pay the duplicate fee.

 

If the StudentCard is lost or comes into the hands of a third party, this must be reported immediately. The loss of the card can be reported in writing or in person to the Admissions Office at the respective study location. Please use the StudentCard duplicate form (PDF, German only).

In case of loss or defect of the chip card, a duplicate fee of 15,00 euros will be charged. Please transfer this amount to the administrative fees account of Hochschule RheinMain (IBAN DE62 5005 0000 0001 0065 19, BIC HELA DE FF XXX). Be sure to include your name and matriculation number in the purpose of use.

The electronic wallet cannot be blocked. Any person in possession of the card can use the available amount of money without additional information!
