Prof. Dr. Detlev Reymann, Präsident der Hochschule RheinMain

Prof. Dr. Detlev Reymann has been a professor at the RheinMain University of Applied Sciences since 1994, most recently in the former Geisenheim faculty. He has headed the university since January 1, 2009.

After his apprenticeship and working as a landscape gardener, he studied horticulture in Hanover specializing in tree nurseries, computing and horticultural economics. President Reymann has actively worked towards developing the university and has served in various roles on its self-governing bodies since joining the university. Additionally, he was involved in processes relating to accreditation and re-accreditation of degree programs and their evaluation on a national level. Since assuming office as President of the RheinMain University of Applied Sciences, Prof.  Dr. Reymann has worked on a series of university policy tasks. He was thus chair of the conference of Hessian universities of applied sciences presidents' councils from 2011 to 2013, member of the working group of the German Rectors' Conference (Hochschulrektorenkonferenz, HRK) on European study reform and is member of the board of spokespersons of the group of universities of applied sciences in the HRK.

In President Reymann's view, the upcoming years will be about further buttressing and advancing the position of universities of applied sciences within the German landscape of higher education. This includes filling the name RheinMain University of Applied Sciences with life and content.

Prof. Dr. Bodo A. Igler, Vizepräsident der Hochschule RheinMainProf. Dr. Bodo A. Igler has been a Professor at RheinMain University of Applied Sciences since 2010. Prior to his appointment as Vice-President he was responsible for the area of software engineering at the university’s Faculty of Design Computer Science Media. His main focus was on applying formal methods to software engineering and issues relating to software architecture.

Professor Igler was born in Stadtsteinach (Upper Franconia, Germany) and is a mathematician who previously held a senior position at the IT division of an international consulting company. In 2003 he was offered a professorship at THM, Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen (formerly Fachhochschule Gießen-Friedberg), where he remained until joining RheinMain University of Applied Sciences.

Prof. Dr. Igler has been Vice-President for Research, Development and Computer Science in Wiesbaden since March 2018. He believes his most important tasks are fostering the university’s special emphasis on  research and digitalization on campus.

Prof. Dr. Christiane Jost, Vizepräsidentin der Hochschule RheinMain

Prof. Dr. M.Sc. Christiane Jost has been a Professor at RheinMain University of Applied Sciences since 2001. Previously to being selected as Vice-President, she was responsible for teaching insurance business administration at Wiesbaden Business School.

Before commencing at the university, the business economist from Limburg worked in various functions including at an auditing company, in risk management at an insurance firm and as a freelance business consultant for insurance and pension funds.

She has been Vice-President at RheinMain University of Applied Sciences since March 2010 and focuses on maintaining and improving the study environment, increasing and enhancing international activities at the university, as well as on promoting excellence in teaching.
In this context she is also in charge of issues related to the Bologna process and implementing it at RheinMain University of Applied Sciences. Her responsibilities also include overseeing the Central Examination Office and its work.

Ayse Asar, Kanzlerin der Hochschule RheinMain

Ayse Asar, LL.M. (London) has been the Vice-President for Finance and Administration of the RheinMain University of Applied Sciences since October 1, 2015. The Vice-President manages the university's administration and finances. She is responsible for budgeting, human resources and legal issues, implementing them according to directives from the president's office.

Ayse Asar studied economics and law at the universities of Giessen, Cologne and London. Following her second German state examination in law and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in London, she worked in various positions at the Goethe University in Frankfurt starting in 2004, latterly as Vice-Chancellor.

Ms. Asar regards one of her most important tasks as intensifying the cooperation between the university's academia and administration. To this end, the university's administration needs to further optimize its processes and expand its range of services in order to create the best possible environment for research and teaching.
