University and State Library

In the Bertramstrasse library, you will find mainly current literature for the courses of study of the Wiesbaden Business School, such as business economics, business law or health care economics. This also includes a selection of theses submitted to the department.

Borrowing media

Please keep your visit short, research the desired literature in advance in the library catalogue and write down the shelfmarks.

Return of media

Contactless return of your media is possible via an “Intelligent Return Shelf”. Using RFID technology, the selected media is automatically returned and you can follow the process on the screen of the shelf to be sure the items were successfully returned.

When the library is closed a return box is available in front of the library.

For all libraries of the university and state library it is strongly recommended to wear a mouth and nose covering (surgical mask, standards FFP2, KN95, N95 or something comparable without exhalation valve) as soon as 1,5 meter distance to others can't be kept.

At the Kurt-Schumacher-Ring library, you will find mainly current literature for the courses of study of the Faculty of Architecture and Civil Engineering and Applied Social Sciences. This includes the theses submitted to the Department of Applied Social Sciences.

Borrowing media

The shelf areas are freely accessible during opening hours and the media can be borrowed straight away.

Return of media

At the Rheinstraße library, you can find books on a broad variety of subjects.

Borrowing media

The Rheinstraße library has closed stacks, so to check out items you have to order them first. Please use our catalogue, the Katalog Plus, for ordering. Please note, that our catalogue is only available in German. Select the option „bestellen“ when you find a book that you’d like to check out.

You can collect the item on the next business day (opening hours). We keep the items on hold for you for seven days, in case you’re not able to make it on the very next day.

Not borrowable media

Items you can’t borrow due to conservational reasons can still be read in our reading room.

In the Unter den Eichen library, you will find mainly current literature for the courses of study of the “Faculty of Design – Computer Science – Media” and the Media Engineering degree program. This includes theses from the media- and computer science courses of studies.

Borrowing media

Most of the media at the Unter den Eichen library is freely accessible. Please collect the items you wish to check out from the shelves on your own. You can use the shelfmarks to find them.

Part of our collection is kept in closed stacks and can be collected for you by the library staff. Please order all media that’s marked with the word “Magazin” via our online catalogue at least one day in advance.

Order media from other branches

If you need media from other branches of our library, you can order these by sending an e-mail to ausleihe-hlb(at)remove-this.hs-rm.de.

Media from the Rheinstraße Library can be ordered to the Unter den Eichen library via our catalogue by clicking the option “bestellen”.

  • the shelfmarks of your desired media. (You can find those in our online catalogue.)
  • your name
  • your library card number (12-digit number on your librarycard or the backside of your StudentCard)
  • and that you want to collect the media at the Rüsselsheim library.

Media from the Rheinstraße Library can be ordered to the Rüsselsheim library via our catalogue by clicking the option “bestellen”.
