Wiesbaden is the capital of the federal state of Hesse and has a population of approx. 280,000. Its former glory as a spa town can still be seen today with its thermal springs, spa gardens and well preserved architecture, but Wiesbaden also has a lot on offer for students.
Various events including concerts and flea markets take place regularly at the well known "Schlachthof" cultural center. The numerous forested areas surrounding Wiesbaden provide the perfect location for sporting activities.
A total of around 15,000 students live in Wiesbaden studying at three local universities. Much of the student accommodation is conveniently located in the Westend district of town, close to the RheinMain University of Applied Sciences Wiesbaden campuses with its faculties of Architecture and Civil Engineering, Design Computer Science and Media, Applied Social Sciences and Wiesbaden Business School.

Rüsselsheim has a population of 60,000 and lies at the heart of the Rhine-Main region; Mainz, Wiesbaden, Darmstadt and Frankfurt are just 15 to 20 minutes away.
More than 120 different nationalities live in Rüsselsheim, adding to its multicultural flair. Many inhabitants of the town work at the Adam Opel AG; likewise a large number of students from the Rüsselsheim-based Faculty of Engineering undertake an internship at the company or start their professional life there.
