University calendar 2025: Feeling Feelings

Under the direction of Prof. Jacqueline Hen, students from the Communication Design degree program have developed the "Rollercoaster of Emotions" concept. Here, abstract emotions are translated into concrete emotions and these into concrete designs, creating an understanding of the connection between emotions and their visual realization.

Emotions throughout the year

Each month the design reflects a different emotional state of feeling, transition or ambiguity into an imaginary theme park attraction. The designs capture the highs and lows, twists and turns, and show the complexity of our emotions throughout the year.

Eco-friendly printing

For the first time, the calendar was printed and hand-bound at the risograph printing facility at Hochschule RheinMain. This environmentally friendly printing technique is known for its unique textures that transform grayscale images into vibrant, colorful prints. The present motifs utilize the limitations and peculiarities of risograph printing as part of the design process.

The calendar was presented to the public on November 11, 2024 and was sold out shortly afterwards.
