Prof. Dr. Susanne Rägle becomes the new President of Hochschule RheinMain - University of Applied Sciences and Arts

Prof. Dr. Susanne Rägle was elected as the new President of Hochschule RheinMain - University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HSRM) by the Extended Senate on Tuesday. Her term of office is six years and begins on January 1, 2027.

In the first round of voting, the candidate received 21 votes, the required majority of the 34 voting members of the HSRM Extended Senate. "I am honored and grateful for the trust placed in me. And I look forward to everything that is to come," said Prof. Dr. Rägle, who gladly accepted the election result after it was announced by the Chair of the Selection Committee.

Having obtained a doctorate in economics, she has been Vice-President of Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences (Frankfurt UAS) since 2022, where she was re-elected by the Extended Senate in 2024. Prior to this, she had been a professor of general business administration, taxation and accounting at Frankfurt UAS since 2004. Professor Rägle is also a tax consultant, worked at Ernst & Young and headed the tax department at MVV Energie AG.

Responsibilities of the University President

The President represents the university externally. She chairs the University Presidium and has the authority to issue directives. In addition, she is the superior of the university's staff and is represented by the Vice-President for Finance and Administration. She maintains order at the university and decides on the exercise of domiciliary rights. The term of office of the new President elected by the Senate of the HSRM is six years, re-election is admitted (see Hessian Higher Education Act, §§ 37 ff.).
