Job advertisement and application period
Applications for the Deutschlandstipendium at Hochschule RheinMain are expected to be possible again from June 2025 until mid-August 2025.
According to § 2 of the statutes for the awarding of Deutschlandstipendien, only students who are within the standard period of study and are still studying for at least two semesters can be considered for the Deutschlandstipendium .
In addition, only those who can provide proof of an intermediate grade of at least 2.7 can apply for the Deutschlandstipendium . First-year bachelor's degree students must provide proof of a grade of at least 2.5 in their university entrance qualification.
Application documents
Please submit the following supporting documents via the online portal:
- a resume in tabular form,
- the academic transcript of your higher education entrance qualification, in the case of foreign transcripts a translation that can be transferred to the German system and converted into the German grading scheme,
- if applicable, proof of a special qualification that entitles the applicant to studies in the respective degree program at Hochschule RheinMain,
- for applications for a Master's degree and Master's students, the academic transcript of a first university degree and, if applicable, further course certificates in accordance with the admission and selection regulations for the Master's degree program,
- If applicable, proof of examinations and academic achievements to date, from which a provisional interim grade can be derived, this must not be older than two months (students of RheinMain University of Applied Sciences can obtain a corresponding certificate from the respective degree program office , this must not be older than two months // Applicants for a higher regular semester of study must obtain a certificate from the university at which they have previously completed their studies, from which a provisional grade can be derived. The provisional grade is calculated from the grades of the examinations and coursework weighted by the CP // A transcript of records, intermediate transcript of records, intermediate diploma certificates or a transcript of completed modules and graded course components is not sufficient proof). The proof must be uploaded to the portal!
- If applicable, job references and proof of special awards and prizes, other knowledge and further commitment.

- In addition to the supporting documents, you must also submit the declaration of intent by post . You can print this out from the online system as soon as you have entered your application there. If you do not submit a declaration of intent, your application will be invalid.
- If the application documents are not in German or English, an officially certified translation in German must be enclosed.
FAQ - Application process
Students who are still studying at least two semesters within the standard period of study in the undergraduate Bachelor's and consecutive master's degree programs are eligible for funding. Applicants must be enrolled at Hochschule RheinMain at the beginning of the approval period.
In addition, only persons who can provide proof of an intermediate grade of at least 2.7 or bachelor's degree beginners who can provide proof of a university entrance qualification with a grade of at least 2.5 can apply for funding. The maximum funding period depends on the standard period of study of the respective degree program.
Applications to Hochschule RheinMain can be submitted for the winter semester. The job advertisement for the Deutschlandstipendium to be awarded that year is published in May/June. Information can be found on the website of the higher education institution. The application is made exclusively via the online portal. Only the declaration of intent (to be found in the online portal) must be submitted by post.
You must submit a declaration of intent (form can be found in the online portal), which you must send by post to the Hochschule RheinMain or hand in there (Hochschule RheinMain, Deutschlandstipendium, Andrea Peters, Postfach 3251, 65022 Wiesbaden). All other supporting documents must be uploaded to the portal. These are:
- a resume in tabular form,
- the academic transcript of your higher education entrance qualification with a grade of at least 2.5, in the case of foreign transcripts a translation that can be converted to the German grading scheme,
- if applicable, proof of a special qualification that entitles the applicant to studies in the respective degree program at Hochschule RheinMain,

- for first-year students and students who have not yet acquired 30 CP (Bachelor's degree/Diplom):
- the average grade of the university entrance qualification or
- the special qualification that entitles the student to studies in the respective degree program at Hochschule RheinMain,
- for students enrolled in a degree program with more than 30 CP only the examinations and study achievements to date (taking into account compliance with the standard period of study)
or results of an intermediate examination (Vordiplom),
- for Master's degree applicants and students of a Master's degree programwho have not yet acquired 30 CP - the final grade of the previous studies
- for Master's degree students who have earned more than 30 CP, only the examinations and academic achievements to date.
Deutschlandstipendium holders are selected on the basis of talent and performance. In addition to examination and academic achievements, social commitment and family or personal circumstances are also taken into account. Corresponding proof must be provided for all criteria. The more detailed criteria are decided annually by the President's Council and published in the job advertisement.
Subject-related factors
- Awards and prizes received in the last five years or scientific publications (only subject-related awards, prizes and scientific publications received in relation to the degree sought // this does not include language courses/certificates// publications must already have been published, an announcement is not sufficient)
- Professional activity (relevant subject-related completed training, relevant subject-related professional activity, e.g. student assistant, also tutor activity and learning guide // this does not include further training or certificates)
Non-subject-related factors
- Involvement in university politics (e.g. activities in the Faculty Student Committee, AStA, academic search committees or Examination Boards)
- Community, social or political volunteering in the last two years in associations and clubs, religious societies (no activities that are remunerated once / this does not include: certificates or pure membership, but active staff for several months, e.g. as a group leader, trainer, supervisor, board member, which are provided proof by official documents)
- Non-subject-related professional activity during studies or civilian service or voluntary social or ecological year, Federal Armed Forces, Federal Voluntary Service, Youth Voluntary Service,
- Non-subject-related prizes and awards from the last two years (e.g. from the field of leading athletics, music // this does not include language courses/certificates or sports badges, participation in a competition is not counted here)
Social factors
- Care of own children during the time of obtaining the university entrance qualification or studies (proof: e.g. copy of birth certificate)
- Care/care of relatives during the time of acquiring the higher education entrance qualification or during studies (official proof of care or care must be provided)
- Chronic illness or severe disability (proof)
- Persons with an immigrant background who have lived in Germany for less than five years (As proof of an immigrant background, a copy of your own passport(s)/identity card and/or a copy of the passport (visa) of the parent with an immigrant background must be submitted with the application documents. If the passports/identity cards do not prove the immigrant background, please enclose a written self-disclosure. The self-declaration must be signed and contain a reference to truthful information).
All information must be provided with proof! Self-written confirmations will not be recognized, nor will excerpts from websites, screenshots, etc.!
