Program structure

The first four semesters cover comprehensive fundamentals in the natural sciences such as mathematics, physics and materials science as well as the technical foundations of classical mechanical engineering such as design, technical mechanics, manufacturing engineering, thermodynamics and fluid dynamics as well as an introduction to electrical engineering and business information technology. The management modules include for instance foundations of business administration and economics, an introduction to marketing and sales as well as accounting. Business English and French (and alternatively Spanish), together with an introduction to law and project management, constitute the third mainstay of the first segment of studies.

In the following fifth and sixth semesters, students expand their knowledge in both engineering and management modules. More in-depth instruction in management and marketing, free electives as well as a comprehensive introduction to enterprise resource planning prepare students for their internships in foreign countries and bachelor's theses in the seventh semester and thus also for their future careers.

During this segment of studies, students can freely choose three elective modules of ten credit points each from twelve modules in different emphases as long as they meet the requirement of choosing a minimum of one engineering and one management module

The program elements can be categorized in the following way:

  • required mathematical, natural science and engineering modules
  • required management modules
  • elective engineering modules
  • elective management modules
  • languages, law, integrative modules
  • internship, project work, bachelor's thesis
