Indonesian delegation at Rüsselsheim Campus

President Prof. Dr. Eva Waller and Faculty of Engineering welcomed delegation from Indonesia

Top-level DAAD delegation from Indonesia visited Hochschule RheinMain (HSRM) to discuss possible types of cooperation.

Last Thursday, University President Prof. Dr. Eva Waller and Dr. Rainer Gruhlich, responsible for International Affairs at the Hessian Ministry of Science and Research, Arts and Culture, warmly welcomed the Indonesian delegation. Following the welcome, members of HSRM presented the university’s research focus and study programs.

Dr. Berry Juliandi, Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at IPB University and former Director of Learning and Student Affairs at the Indonesian Ministry for Higher Education, Science and Technology, then presented the Indonesian higher education system and research landscape.

Focus on future cooperation

Possible forms of cooperation include, for example, the expansion of student exchanges; eleven students from Indonesia are currently enrolled at HSRM. The delegation and HSRM members also discussed prospective double degree programs and teaching staff mobilities. Another relevant topic of the visit was collaborating in applied research, particularly in climate, biodiversity and energy transformation.

The event brought together senior representatives from Indonesian universities, government authorities, and the DAAD. From HSRM, participants included the Dean's Office of the Faculty of Engineering, professors from various degree programs, and other university units.

Matchmaking event with various universities

Following a guided tour of the Rüsselsheim Campus and the faculty’s laboratories, Dr. Guido Schnieders, DAAD Director Regional Office Jakarta, led a matchmaking event attended by members of university leaders and representatives from Aschaffenburg University of Applied Sciences, Fulda University of Applied Sciences, Koblenz University of Applied Sciences, Mainz University of Applied Sciences and HSRM. The goal was to discuss concrete cooperation projects with the Indonesian delegation.
