HIT 2026 at HSRM

More than 1,100 high school students attended the University Information Day (HIT) at Hochschule RheinMain – University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HSRM) to learn more about the university and its programs.

University President Prof. Dr. Eva Waller welcomed the guests in the AudiMax on the Kurt-Schumacher-Ring Campus. She described the information day as one of the most wonderful events of the academic year—alongside the welcome ceremony for first-year students and the graduation ceremonies.

It makes sense for high school students to get a feel early on for “which university and which environment best suits you,” said Prof. Dr. Waller. What sets universities of applied sciences apart is their practical orientation and hands-on approach. In addition, HSRM has “very well-equipped laboratories, workshops, and learning spaces that facilitate collaborative work and research.”

Programs and Campus Life

Over the course of the morning, the high school students attended presentations on studying at the five faculties and learned about the degree programs at information booths. They also had the opportunity to speak with the Student Advising Service and the International Office. The Communication Design degree program offered portfolio reviews. At the Faculty of Architecture and Civil Engineering, the high school students could join lab tour and visit the model workshop. The student projects Scuderia Mensa and RheinVolt Motorsport presented the race cars they had built themselves. HSRM's student union (AStA) and the OSCAR Student Cinema also introduced themselves.

The teachers were also well looked after: during a coffee chat, they had the opportunity to talk with the Central Student Advising Service and the HSRM Talent Scouts.

The next University Information Day will take place on October 28, 2027.
