about the lecture:
Description:
Would you like practical, employer‑side and coaching perspectives on salary negotiation? Want to know which negotiation approaches HR appreciates, which arguments convince, and which tactics are counterproductive? Then this session is for you! We have invited Yasmin Hedjri to this TALK, HR expert and career coach with a focus on career development, including salary negotiations, at SkillStamp. Gain first‑hand insights from both an HR practitioner and a coach, and bring your own questions.
Contents:
- Preparing for salary negotiations: researching market salaries, benchmarking, and building a clear value proposition
- Structuring the negotiation: setting objectives, opening statements, and timing (initial offer vs. counteroffer)
- Communication techniques: phrasing requests, framing achievements, handling objections, and sustaining confidence
- Total compensation: negotiating base salary, bonuses, benefits, flexible working, and career progression
- Practical scenarios and role‑play tips; how to respond to common employer moves
- Q&A on salary topics
Learning objectives:
- Participants can identify the key components of a successful salary negotiation, including preparation, evidence, and communication strategy.
- Participants are able to assess their current negotiation style, recognise strengths and areas for improvement, and form a concrete negotiation plan.
- Participants will be able to negotiate total compensation—not just salary—by identifying key monetary and non‑monetary elements and aligning priorities with their long‑term career goals.
Requirements:
- Working media equipment (camera and microphone); active participation
- You will receive the meeting link in good time before the event
- Language of the event: English
