Financial Services (dual)
What is it?
If you’re interested in the world of financial services and would like to combine practical experience with a degree, then our cooperative bachelor's program in Financial Services is just what you’re looking for.
You can choose between three specializations: “Insurance plus apprenticeship”, “Insurance career-integrated”, and “Banking career-integrated”.
- Plus apprenticeship:
With this option, you’ll complete an apprenticeship to become an insurance and financial advisor at the same time as you complete your degree. When you apply, you’ll choose to specialize in insurance. - Career-integrated:
If you have already completed a commercial apprenticeship and are employed by a participating financial services provider, you can start straight in the third semester of the degree program. You can choose between the insurance or banking specializations.
What can I do with it?
After completing your degree, you’ll be a specialist for financial services, focusing on insurance or banking. You’ll be equipped to support management teams at insurance companies and banks and to become a manager yourself later on. The strong practical focus of the degree will make you sought after by insurers, banks, management consultancies, and accounting firms.
For degree-seeking students: detailed information on admission requirements, application deadlines, etc. can be found on the German page.
What our graduates say

The dual studies program was the ideal way for me to combine theory and practical experience and to facilitate my entry into professional life through practical lectures. The exchange with the professors was also enriching beyond the content - current industry topics and economic developments were discussed together. I was much better prepared for my master's degree in many areas.

The cooperative bachelor's degree in Financial Services was an ideal start to the insurance industry. Despite the cooperative orientation, I always had the feeling that I could enjoy a real student life with the associated study atmosphere. The newly added recognition of credits from the practical phases is a huge advantage for all cooperative students. I was able to apply the content of my studies directly.

The Insurance & Banking degree program and the program management were awarded the 2017 prize for commitment to teaching and nominated for UNICUM's Professor of the Year 2024. According to WiWi-Online, the degree program is considered a "talent factory".
