Independent right to award doctorates

Wiesbaden Business School has the independent right to award doctorates in the research-intensive subject area of "Mobility and Logistics". This allows academics to obtain a doctorate independently and work on innovative research projects.

Doctorates are awarded via the cross-university Doctoral Center for Mobility and Logistics. The center serves as a scientific platform for interdisciplinary research and exchange with industry and business.

Research focus:

  • Sustainable transportation concepts (e.g. electromobility, sharing models)
  • Intelligent transportation solutions (e.g. digital control, automation)
  • Digital innovations in logistics (e.g. AI in supply chains, blockchain)
  • Economic and ecological aspects of modern mobility

Advantages of a doctorate at our faculty

  • Supervision by experienced professors with scientific and practical expertise
  • Strong networking with industry partners, research facilities and public institutions
  • Practical research with direct application relevance in business and society
  • Award of the doctorate by Hochschule RheinMain

Cooperative doctorates

In a cooperative doctorate, supervision of the doctorate is provided by experts from different academic institutions. This enables comprehensive academic supervision and the exchange of ideas and resources.

The dual supervision is provided by professors from Hochschule RheinMain and a university or higher education institution with independent doctoral rights. The interdisciplinary exchange promotes cooperation with external institutions and enables doctoral students to benefit from different perspectives and expertise.

Our faculty currently cooperates with the Goehte University Frankfurt and the Georg-August University Göttingen.

Workplace and general conditions

  • The doctorate is mainly carried out at the Hochschule RheinMain.
  • Access to the facilities, libraries and other resources of the HSRM
  • Opportunity to establish contacts with other researchers and experts within the higher education institution and the cooperating institution
  • The doctorate is awarded by the cooperating university.
