Faraneh Farnoudi receives honorary professorship from HSRM

Honorary professor Faraneh Farnoudi and University President Prof. Dr. Eva Waller

At the suggestion of the Faculty of Architecture and Civil Engineering, Hochschule RheinMain – University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HSRM) has awarded Faraneh Farnoudi an honorary professorship. The interim professor received her certificate of appointment last week.

"Faraneh Farnoudi has enriched teaching at Hochschule RheinMain – University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HSRM) for several years with her expertise in the fields of design and building construction, design strategies for existing buildings and project work. I am delighted to have now appointed her as an honorary professor for the field of Generative Design and AI in Architecture in the Faculty of Architecture and Civil Engineering," said University President Prof. Dr. Eva Waller.

Generative Design and AI in Architecture

Farnoudi studied Civil Engineering and Architecture at the technical university (TU) Kaiserslautern. In 2004, she founded the architecture firm FARANEH FARNOUDI ARCHITEKTUR in Frankfurt am Main. From 2004 to 2011, she was a member of staff at the TU Kaiserslautern and the TU Darmstadt, and between 2004 and 2018 she also held teaching contracts at both universities and at the HSRM. This was followed by positions as scientific project manager for research at the TU Munich and as project manager and head of the research department at Hild und K Architekten.

As a visiting lecturer at the Technical University of Munich and as an interim professor at the HSRM, Farnoudi taught in the fields of Design and Construction and Design Strategies for Existing Buildings. As honorary professor at the HSRM, Farnoudi will take over the field of Generative Design and AI in Architecture.
