FAQ - Deutschlandstipendium program
A distinction must be made here between mandatory internships in Germany and abroad and other internships.
Mandatory internships in Germany are integrated into the studies and do not prevent the Deutschlandstipendium from being paid out. The situation is similar with internships abroad, insofar as they are provided for in the respective study regulations; they can be regarded as "subject-related stays abroad". If Deutschlandstipendium holders take leave of absence for other internships that are not provided for in the respective study regulations, the Deutschlandstipendium will not continue to be paid during this time.
The Deutschlandstipendium will continue to be paid even if you are on a subject-related stay abroad. The requirement is that you go abroad for the duration of the Deutschlandstipendium . This applies regardless of any leave of absence at the higher education institution awarding the Deutschlandstipendium . If you are studying abroad via the ERASMUS program, the Deutschlandstipendium will continue to be paid even if you receive a mobility grant from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) at the same time.
Here you can find more information on the Deutschlandstipendium on the website of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research
