ERASMUS+ KA171 / International Credit Mobility

Students from selected universities who would like to spend one semester at Hochschule RheinMain between winter semester 2024/25 and summer semester 2027 can apply for an ERASMUS+ scholarship for a maximum period of five months. It is also possible to receive the scholarship for an internship in Germany. However, students have to find a placement offer themselves.

The participating universities and available degree programmes at Hochschule RheinMain are:

  • German Jordanian University (GJU)
    Degree programmes: Communication Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture, Engineering, Media: Conception & Production
     
  • Walailak University International College (WUIC) 
    Degree programme: Media: Conception & Production
     
  • Namibia University of Science & Technology (NUST) 
    Degree programmes: Architecture & Civil Engineering, Engineering, Media: Conception & Production
     
  • Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT)
    Degree programme: Media: Conception & Production
     
  • University of Wisconsin River Falls (UWRF) 
    Degree programme: Media Production

 

Scholarship amount 

The Erasmus+ grant consists of financial support for travel and living expenses.

Students will receive EUR 900/month for living costs for a maximum period of five months.

The travel allowance is a one-off payment and amounts to:

- EUR 580 for students from GJU

- EUR 1,735 for students from WUIC, NUST and CPUT

- EUR 1,188 for students from UWRF

Please note that we can only transfer your grant to a German bank account.

 

Special Funding

The Erasmus+ programme aims to promote equity of opportunity in international mobility. It therefore offers the possibility to apply for monthly Social Top-Ups (EUR 250/month) if you meet the eligibility criteria (students with disabilities or chronic illnesses, studying abroad with children, first-generation students, employed students...). If you think one of the criteria might apply to you, please contact us at incomingspam prevention@hs-rm.de for more information.

 

Preconditions for ERAMSUS+ Funding

  • Your minimum period of stay is 3 months.
  • According to your choice of courses, we expect your German or English language skills to be at least B1 (B2 for Media: Conception & Production) according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
  • You should have above average grades.
  • You are expected to hand in the complete Erasmus+ documents in time at the International Office of Hochschule RheinMain.

The home university selects the students to be awarded with a scholarship.

 

Application Procedure for ERASMUS+ KA171 / Intl. Credit Mobility

1. Please contact your Coordinator at your home university:

- GJU: scholarship.coordinator(at)gju.edu.jo

Your home university selects the students who are eligible for the scholarship.

2. Your home university sends their decision and nomination of students to  by May 15 for a winter semester and by October 15 for a summer semester.

3. After having received the nominations, we will send you a link for online registration.
You will receive further information concerning your visa, accommodation, insurance, bank account etc.
We require the following documents from you in English for your application:

  • Curriculum vitae
  • Motivation letter
  • ERASMUS+ Learning Agreement

4. Once you have arrived at Hochschule RheinMain, we will send your Erasmus+ Grant Agreement that you have to sign. After that we will transfer your travel allowance and 90% of the total grant to your German bank account.

5. At the end of your stay you will be required to fill in an online questionnaire, after which we will transfer the final 10% of your grant.
