If it is possible to finance your studies abroad via BAfög , it is particularly worthwhile if tuition fees are payable, as up to €5,600 in tuition fees are covered, which, like a lump sum for travel expenses and a subsidy for health insurance abroad, do not have to be repaid. Sometimes financing via a student loan from the Federal Government is also useful.
