What is it?

With the Master of Science in Insurance and Banking, you’ll specialize in banking, insurance, and finance. The focus is on in-depth and research-based discussion of major management tasks in the German and international banking, insurance, and capital market sectors. A particular area of interest are developments and challenges relating to the digitization of processes in financial services (digital finance, cryptocurrencies, blockchain, etc.) Tight integration with the Master of Science in Controlling and Finance means that extensive options can be offered.

Compulsory modules for the “Insurance and Banking” specialization are supplemented by a comprehensive range of options from the “Digital Finance” and “Controlling and Finance” areas. In addition, the digitization of the financial services industry is a major theme across the entire degree program.

What can I do with it?

The degree trains students in specialist skills and management tasks for German and international financial institutions, insurers, and integrated financial services providers. To ensure graduates have the skills they need, a particular emphasis is placed on strategic management and qualitative and quantitative risk management.
