DEGREE PROGRAMS AND MORE

Degree programs and more

Welcome to the Faculty of Engineering! Here you will find general information for your stay.

Degree programs
A diverse range of programs awaits students at the Faculty of Engineering. Our degree programs have different areas of specialization in the fields of Applied Physics & Medical Engineering, Information Technology & Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mathematics and the fundamentals of engineering and are constantly adapted to current social developments. The course content and different teaching formats closely link theory and practice in order to train students to become theoretically informed professionals who critically reflect on their practice. To this end, teaching research projects provide students with access to research at an early stage of their studies and can thus stimulate research-based reflection on social work practice.

Language of instruction
The language of instruction is predominantly German. Each semester, however, the faculty offers some courses in English. Since our teaching is based on a module structure, the topics and contents of the courses may vary each semester.
The current English-language course offerings can be found here: English course offer for exchange students.

Academic Calendar
The academic year in Germany is structured in semesters. Teaching periods and examination periods may overlap at your home and host universities. You should take these individual circumstances into account when planning your stay and, if necessary, make arrangements and find out about exam requirements and periods.
