New programs at Hochschule RheinMain - University of Applied Sciences and Arts

The winter semester 2026/27 will see the launch of new innovative, practice-oriented, flexible programs with high social relevance at Hochschule RheinMain - University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HSRM) in Wiesbaden and Rüsselsheim.

In the faculty of Applied Social Sciences in Wiesbaden a new innovative, practical and very flexible model for Bachelor's degree courses will be introduced next winter semester. In addition to the broad-based, traditional Social Work degree program, prospective students can now choose to specialize in Social Work right from the start.

The specialized programs of the new variant include:

  • Health Care Issues in Social Work
  • International Social Work
  • Childhood, youth, (all-day) school
  • Psychosocial counseling and coaching
  • Social Work in the context of racism and right-wing extremism
  • Social Law (LL.B. degree)

With the new courses, students gain more flexibility, while organizations and institutions continue to gain graduates with excellent practical training and future-relevant know-how.

The faculty of Engineering in Rüsselsheim is also introducing a new, innovative, flexible and still practice-oriented study model. The Applied Engineering model combines the previous Bachelor's degree courses into the modern Applied Engineering (B. Sc./B. Eng.) degree course, including cooperative and part-time options. From the outset, students can choose one of these individual specializations from a wide range of courses - which were previously organized in independent degree programs:

  • Applied Physics
  • Audiovisual technologies and AI
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Electrical and Aeronautical Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Mechatronics
  • Medical Engineering
  • Sustainable Engineering
  • Environmental Technology
  • Industrial Engineering and Management

During their studies, students can switch between specializations in both Social Work and Applied Engineering. Students will also have more flexibility here in the future, and graduates will be excellently trained with innovative skills for the future. The new programs also have a stronger international focus.

English-language master's degree programs

In addition to the comprehensive restructuring of the Bachelor's program, HSRM has also expanded its Master's program. For example, four English-language master's degree programs will be launched in the winter semester in order to open up HSRM more to international students and prepare young people for the international job market:

  • AI and Advanced Information Technologies
  • Applied Physics
  • Biomedical Engineering
  • Sustainable and Digital Aviation
