At the end of March, a Spring School on the topic of “Multi-Cultural Communication” took place at the TeachingLearningCenter of HSRM at the Kurt-Schumacher-Ring Campus in Wiesbaden.
A total of 29 students and 8 members of staff from partner universities in Poland (Koszalin University of Technology), the Basque Country (Mondragon University), Finland (Savonia University of Applied Sciences) and HSRM took part in the international project week. The goal was to promote intercultural skills, get to know new perspectives and work together on topics relating to communication in international contexts.
Making use of cultural diversity
The Spring School focused on the question of how successful collaboration can be achieved across cultural boundaries. In lectures, workshops, and group projects, the participants explored topics such as values, scientific findings from cultural research, communication styles, cultural backgrounds and aspects of global teamwork. This not only resulted in a professional exchange, but also a deeper understanding of cultural diversity.
In addition to the academic program, the students explored the City of Wiesbaden and got to know the region. After the courses, there was plenty of time to talk about their studies and life experiences in the different countries and to make international friends.
Excursion to the Seibert Group
A highlight of the week was the excursion day at Seibert Group GmbH in Wiesbaden. The participants were given an insight into the working world of an international company and learned more about agile working, team culture and global collaboration.
The joint work and open exchange not only resulted in new insights, but also friendships that will last far beyond the Spring School.
Following the successful Spring School, preparations are already underway for the next international students' week at the TeachingLearningCenter. The summer school “International Week Future Leaders 2026” will take place from August 10 to 14, 2026.
