What aspect of your research fascinates you the most?
I love meeting people from all over the world who are working on the same or a similar topic, but who might have different starting points and perspectives. Exchanging ideas is incredibly beneficial.
What does “good teaching” mean to you?
For me, teaching always has to do with learning. I learn a lot from interacting with students as well. Teaching and learning go together, teaching is not a one-way street.
What did you want to be growing up?
My parents always said that I would become a teacher. I myself wanted to be an author and write a book. In a way, my wish came true when I wrote my dissertation. Teaching also came true.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
I really enjoy exploring cities, both in Germany and abroad. Give me a beautiful library or a ride on a ferris wheel any day.
