Yesterday evening, the prize of the Betriebswirtschaftliche Gesellschaft Wiesbaden e. V. (BGW) was awarded at the Hochschule RheinMain.

This year's award winner is Miriam Sawczyc, who graduated from the master's degree program in International Management as the best student of the year with an average grade of 1.1. The prize, which is awarded for special achievements in the Wiesbaden Business School faculty, is endowed with 2,500 euros.

BGW CEO Konstantin Schulz praised the overall impressive quality of this year's applications and congratulated Miriam Sawczyc on her success. Prof. Dr. Till Dannewald, Dean of the Wiesbaden Business School, spoke of an "outstanding talent" and an "inspiring educational background".

Two start-ups founded

In addition to her academic achievements in the double master's degree program in cooperation with the Thai partner university ICO NIDA, Miriam Sawczyc distinguished herself with numerous entrepreneurial achievements. Her sustainable business idea for cooler cities won the Huawei Digital Seed Competition 2023 in the summer. She also founded two start-ups, Loyyal, which deals with cybersecurity for SMEs, and SmartGridDynamics, which focuses on the flexible use of energy storage in electric trucks.

Passion for international relations

Prof. Dr. Marina Grusevaja, who supervised Sawczyc's Master's thesis, mentioned her passion for international relations. This is reflected in her master's thesis on relations between Europe and China in the context of the energy transition, but also in her stays abroad in England and Mexico. "Ms. Swaczyic is a worthy award winner and an educational background as a responsible entrepreneur," said Prof. Dr. Grusevaja. “The great challenges of our time know no bounds.”
