From June 22 to 25, 2026, CSU representatives from the United States visited HSRM. The focus of the visit was the renewal of the existing partnership agreement for internships and research placements.
The signing ceremony took place at the Kurt-Schumacher-Ring Campus in collaboration with the HSRM International Office. In her welcome address, University President Prof. Dr. Eva Waller praised the long-standing and successful collaboration between the two universities. She then signed the partnership agreement together with Prof. Dr. Christian Jochum (HSRM), Prof. Dr. Christian M. Puttlitz (CSU), and Prof. Dr. Ken Reardon (CSU).
A Successful Partnership for 20 Years
The partnership has been in place for 20 years and was largely initiated by Prof. Dr. Hans Dieter Hochheimer of the CSU. In 2010, he received the HSRM Medal of Honor for his outstanding contributions to internationalization.
As part of the partnership, HSRM students can complete an internship or research internship in a CSU laboratory. Two to three students participate each year; to date, a total of about 40 students have taken advantage of this opportunity.
Discussions on New Opportunities for Cooperation
The discussions also focused on the further development of the partnership. The guests were introduced to HSRM’s degree programs taught in English as well as the new English-language master’s degree programs. In addition, the guests learned about changes in the Faculty of Engineering and about potential participation in the RISE program of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
