2nd WBS Science Day: Research in Dialogue

Insights into current research projects and future societal issues

The 2nd WBS Science Day was a diverse and engaging research event held at the Wiesbaden Business School. The event was conceived by Prof. Dr. Marina Grusevaja, who put together a varied program featuring current scientific topics and international perspectives. Carina Heit and Kamile Bickaite provided active support in organizing the event.

The event kicked off with a keynote address by Prof. Dr. Stephan Böhm, Dean for Academic Affairs at the DCSM faculty, on the topic “Media Production in Flux: Research Perspectives on AI-Based Disruption and Transformation.” In his talk, he highlighted current developments and key research questions surrounding the influence of artificial intelligence on media production.

Wide Range of Topics

Afterward, participants split into three parallel sessions featuring presentations in both German and English. The range of topics spanned AI, knowledge management, and human resource management, as well as employee-leader interactions and ridesharing, all the way to safe and sustainable driving behavior, the reduction of emissions in air travel, and the development of agroforestry value chains.

Other presentations addressed sustainability reporting, warehouse sharing, and modern warehousing systems. Topics such as digital participation in healthcare, decentralized finance, digital finance, legal tech, and outpatient surgeries from the patient’s perspective were also on the agenda. Speakers from Morocco, Spain, Thailand, Italy, and Poland contributed international perspectives.

Between sessions, coffee and lunch breaks provided opportunities for personal encounters, professional exchange, and the development of new ideas. In this way, Science Day combined academic presentations, lively discussions, and international networking into an inspiring day of events—while also highlighting the diversity of research currently taking place at the Wiesbaden Business School.
