The easiest way to find out when a bus or train is running in the Wiesbaden/Frankfurt area is to check the RMV website.
For train connections throughout Germany, the Deutsche Bahn website is best.
You can find a video guide for directions here:
Every Erasmus student is assigned a buddy before the beginning of the semester. This person is a German student who is there to help with questions and problems. You can contact them before the beginning of the semester. You are also welcome to ask your buddy to help you pick you up from the airport, with registration in Wiesbaden or with any other problems. Your buddy will be happy to help you!
In the first week of lectures, the Incoming Coordinators will organize a"Meet-Your-Buddy-Meeting" so that you can officially get to know your buddy.
If you are not happy with your buddy, please contact the Incoming Coordinators. If necessary, they can assign you a new buddy.
Your first point of contact is your Buddy. If they are unable to help you, the Incoming Coordinators are available to you at any time. They will find a solution together with you and, if necessary, Ms. Meissner. Please feel free to visit us during our office hours or contact us by email at: ic-wbs@hs-rm.de
You can log in to your StudIP account with the HDS access data that you receive after your enrollment and before the beginning of the semester. You are automatically registered for the WBS newsletter via StudIP.
There you will receive important information about the individual degree programs and lectures, for example about the cancellation of a lecture.
You will also receive emails from the Incoming Coordinators informing you about upcoming excursions or your examination registration.
Send us an email to ic-wbs or contact us via WhatsApp so that we can fix the problem and add your email so that you receive all the important information. @hs-rm.de
You will receive a list with information on lectures held in English at the beginning of the semester at the first information event at WBS.
Alternatively, you can also view this information here on the website.
You can register for the lectures via Compass shortly before the start of the semester in order to have access to all lecture notes and other relevant supporting documents. This will create an individual timetable and complete the official enrolment in the courses.
Important: A separate enrolment is required for examinations - enrolment for the lecture alone is not sufficient. Appropriate instructions will be provided by Mrs Meissner in good time.
Most lecturers post the lecture notes in StudIP (you will receive the password during the first week of your stay), others distribute the supporting documents in the first lecture.
Basically, it can be assumed that all lecture notes are relevant for the exam!
Via COMPASS by the end of April (summer semester) or the end of October (winter semester). You will receive instructions on examination registration from Ms. Meissner in good time. If you do not register, you will not be able to take any examinations! - but don't worry, the Incoming Coordinators will remind you.
You must also hand in the Course Choice Forms to us or Ms. Meissner. These serve as additional security so that you do not have any problems with your examination registration.
If you have any questions or problems, the respective buddy or the incoming team are always available as contact persons. If you are considering a change of residence, please inform the relevant contact person at the hall of residence or flat. In addition, Mrs Tanja Bauer can help with important concerns or specific questions.
In the event of illness or other medical concerns, the incoming team can be contacted for support. Further information on medical contacts can be found in the WhatsApp group. In emergencies, the emergency room of the nearest hospital (Asklepios Paulinen Klinik Wiesbaden) should be visited. In life-threatening situations, the emergency number 112 should be dialed throughout Europe.
Yes, as a rule this should work. However, we still recommend that you create a German bank account for your stay, as there are some stores and services that do not accept credit cards, for example, but only "EC cards". You can also create a Revolut account and use it to make payments.
