Ubbo Aßmus has been named honorary professor in the Faculty of Design Computer Science Media at Hochschule RheinMain (HSRM). The doctoral graduate in law was presented with his certificate of appointment on Wednesday by University President Prof. Dr. Eva Waller.
Dr. Aßmus has been an adjunct instructor at HSRM since winter semester 2016/17 and teaches in the Business Informatics degree programs at the Unter den Eichen Campus. As a lawyer specialized in IT law, he also runs his own law firm focused on IT, data protection and technology law and is the managing director and co-founder of a RegTech start-up that has developed a whistleblower system and ESG/compliance modules for companies and authorities. His earlier career includes positions at two major law firms in Frankfurt am Main.
After studying law in Freiburg, Helsinki and Dresden and completing his legal clerkship at the Higher Regional Court of Düsseldorf, Dr. Aßmus obtained a doctorate in law from the University of Kassel in 2013 with a dissertation on email retention policies in companies.
“As a specialist in IT law, Ubbo Aßmus contributes valuable legal expertise to the education of our students. His extensive practical experience – also as a successful founder and managing director – enriches the Faculty of Design Computer Science Media. We are very pleased to have him as an honorary professor,” says Prof. Dr. Waller.
